How to convince my mom I have ADD?

I really do think I have it. I never really knew what ADD was and i always thought that it meant you were hyperactive like in ADHD. Anyway, i'm 19 years old and in college and have taken adderall a few times for exams and stuff, and it really helped me focus and not get distracted while i was studying. Well i was curious as to what the symptoms of ADD/ADHD were and realized that I matched up with almost every single symptom of ADD. I have always had a hard time staying focused, I tend to procrastinate heavily, i'm terrible at managing time, don't really have that strong of a drive although i really wish i did. I think a low dose of adderall could really help me. I wouldn't want to take it every day or anything because i'm sure it has longterm effects. However, I want to bring this up to my mom to see what she thinks but I don't want her to freak out and think that i'm just trying to get prescribed drugs, i want her to know that i'm really serious. Any tips on how I should approach this?
