Should I attend an event that my ex will be at?

My ex gf and I broke up 2 mouths ago. we dated for a year and she was my first love. I have to attend a induction ceremony for an honors society. I really don't want to go because my ex is also being inducted and will be at the event. she might even bring someone else with her. I haven't spoken to her since we broke up and I really don't want to talk or see her.
